The Ten Best Tablet Computers

We are just four months old but we already have featured several tablet comparisons. Whether it’s a popular brand vs. an unknown brand, the worst product vs. the best product or the top tablet against the alpha tablet, we have done them all. Now it’s time to put them all together in one ring and start the Royal Rumble. In celebration of our four months (exactly today), here is our list of the ten best tablet computers.

10. Kobo Vox

Kobo’ first ever tablet can be considered as an inferior version of the Kindle Fire. Both are e-reader/tablet hybrids and both come with the same price tag.  expand

The Vox though has lesser features than Amazon’s device. It has nice colors and a unique quilted back but besides these it’s an ordinary Android tablet at best and very similar to what you will find in Chinese retail stores. 9. Droid Xyboard 10.1

The Xyboard seeks to erase the judgments that people made with Motorola’s previous tablet, the Xoom. It has impressive specs in both hardware and software and is now thinner and lighter. expand

It is also one of the first tablets to support 4G LTE connection. But the price of each Xyboard (around $730 for the 64 GB model) is what made us pull this tablet down on the list. 8. Sony Tablet P

Sony surprised us by releasing a unique tablet in the Tablet P. Its clamshell design will remind you of gaming devices and some smartphones. expand

The tablet’s two screens are first in Android tablets and probably the last as the division between the two screens can easily distract you. You can’t fault Sony for trying though. Here is our Sony Tablet P review.

7. Nook Tablet

The Nook Tablet is Barnes & Noble’s answer to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. But it is a device that stands on its own. It has a better RAM than the Fire, better storage (larger disk space and an SD Card slot) and a longer battery life. expand

6. Sony Tablet S

If you want to experience PlayStation on an Android device without using those buggy emulators, then the Sony Tablet S is for you. But this tablet offers more than that. expand

5. Galaxy Tab 10.1

We like our tablets slim that’s why the 10-inch Galaxy Tab scored high on our list. It is also the device that can give you the most out of your Android experience because of the good selection of Apps. expand

The screen resolution is nice and the performance is acceptable. It would be higher on this list if it lasts longer as its battery life is only around 8 hours. Learn more about this tablet here.

4. Galaxy Tab 7.0 PLUS

Two Galaxy Tabs in succession? What’s happening here?It was hard to decide which between the 10-inch and the 7-inch should go higher but we ultimately went with the smaller one. expand

3. Kindle Fire

The Kindle Fire will not impress you with its specs. It has no external storage options, no cameras, no microphone and the 8 GB internal memory is not enough to enjoy a lot of games, songs and movies. expand

This is what you can expect from a tablet that is worth only $199. But the tablet can provide you with enough stuff from Amazon to keep you busy. A great user experience for a cheap tablet is hard to come by. Check out how it compares with the iPad here.

2. iPad 2

No other product has been able to topple the iPad as the top selling tablet on the world. Many tablets have been released that offer superior specs and features but it is not enough to steer away users from Apple’s tablet. expand

1. Transformer Prime

The iPad may be the best selling tablet in the market but that doesn’t mean it is the best tablet out there. That distinction belongs to the Transformer Prime, the first ever tablet to have a quad-core processor. expand

 ASUS seems to have put everything on this tablet as it is the slimmest, the fastest and the most cost-effective tablet in the market today.
